SEED Funding

Startup India Seed Fund Scheme (SISFS)

The Startup India Seed Fund Scheme (SISFS) provides financial assistance to early-stage startups for proof of concept, prototype development, product trials, market entry, and commercialization — without requiring them to dilute significant equity.

SEED Funding
Overview

What You Need to Know

What it is: SISFS is a government-backed seed funding initiative under the Startup India programme. It provides grants and soft loans of up to ₹20 lakhs for proof of concept / prototype stage, and up to ₹50 lakhs for market entry / commercialization — disbursed through empanelled DPIIT-recognized incubators.

Why it matters: Early-stage startups often face a "funding gap" — too early for institutional investors, but needing capital to build a working product. SISFS fills this gap with government-backed, low-dilution capital.
